Mango lassi is a yogurt based drink popular in India which is served as dessert. It is smooth and silky and I will say it falls between a milkshake and a smoothie.
From my online foreign food exploits, lassi comes in lots of flavours; mint, spiced, salty, sweet etc. Common now is the mango lassi made with mangoes, yogurt, milk and sweetened with sugar which is spiced with cardamon or not.
Taste: Rich, creamy and refreshing. Goodness! There milk, yogurt, ice cubes, mangoes perfect for a hot day. (Ironically it is raining here now).
Before you make mango lassi, make sure your mango is ripe and sweet. If the mango is not ripe enough it will be too tart, you might be disappointed with the results. I have been there.
- 2 cups tightly packed mangoes about 2 large mangoes
- 1cup/240ml plain or fresh yogurt
- 1/2cup/ 120ml milk I use whole milk
- 4-5 tablespoon honey or sugar adjust to taste

Put mango, yogurt, milk and sugar in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend together. Serve garnished with mint leaves if desired.
